  • Glad to be here

Just happened upon this site googling. I am excited there is such a site available at no charge. I am in need of some sort of motivation or ideas or something! I am a nurse and I know much about nutrition and what needs to take place for weight loss but still, I , myself am struggling. Always been fit, mom of 4. My youngest just turned 3, so I can no longer use him as an excuse. Its pretty sad when I hide from people and friends because I am so embarrassed of what I look like. My weight right now is the same as it was when I delivered my son in 2010. After I had him I lost my weight and somehow, its all there. I am so ashamed and upset. hoping for some help on here:)

    Hi and welcome!

I've had a lot of luck here over the last couple of years. I was obese when I first started dieting and am now in the lower zone of overweight. It's a long process so it took a lot of effort to stay motivated. This forum has been a big part of it.

I hope you have just as much luck! Just keep going! That's the trick

hi momof4. You can do it! Just don't give up and don't be too hard on yourself. :) It's not as though those of us with kids and a full time job have a huge amount of extra time to exercise, and when we do have time, we're tired! Just do what you can and be smart about the choices you make and you'll get some gradual progress

        Hi momof4!

        Welcome :)

I post all the time here, so I hope you'll find some of my stuff helpful!

Don't be ashamed and upset! Being a mom is a full time job. When you work outside the home, you're trying to be a superhero! It's going to take its toll somewhere, and for a lot of us, that means a bigger middle. I find that the secret to getting rid of that bit o' bulge is in short workouts throughout the day, and a change in snacking (better and smarter snacking, not trying to eliminate it, that just leads to binging). The rest can stay the same if it has to.

If you have 2 minutes free, dance all around or power walk. If you can do this more than once a day, great! I promise you that even the extra 2 minutes will make a difference. It all adds up!
