Hey I?m Joe. I?ve got to do something quick about my weight. I just saw a chiropractor over the weekend because my tailbone is bruised. I sit a lot for work and I?ve tried all kinds of different chairs, but the doctor is saying my weight it too much for my frame and theres to much pressure on my hips. I don?t really know what to do but I it has to happen quick. Im embarrased to say I cant really run because it hurts my shins and low back so much and ive never been a fan of going to the gym. Has anyone had any luck here? I don?t think I eat too bad but I do drink some beers on the weekend.

Re: newbie needs to heal his tailbone and lose weight
Hi Joe. I had a similar problem because I have a job where I sit all day. My tailbone wasn't bruised but my back and hips would get really sore.
It's great that you are motivated to lose weight. Keep that up. I used to say the same thing "I don't eat too bad", and for the most part that was true. What you have to focus on is reducing your portion sizes when you eat. I'm not a great cook, so I admit to eating mostly pre-prepared food. But when I needed to lose the weight, instead of downing a whole medium pizza (or two ), I would eat a half of it and put the other half away, right into the freezer so I couldn't go back to it later. I started making all sorts of tricks like that so that when I became hungry after my meals it wasn't as easy to keep snacking.
I hate to say it, but to lose weight you gotta get serious. Go home and throw away all of the junk food in your cupboards - don't leave it there for temptation. Buy yourself a bunch of fruit, or 100 calorie pre-packaged snacks and eat this between meals. I tell ya, the first week is the hardest when reducing portions cause your stomach is used to being stuffed, but it gets easier, you just have to stick with it. I lost a huge amount of weight without using diet pills or gimmick diets all because I reduced the amount of food I ate at every meal and started getting some exercise - mostly walking cause jogging was painful.
I have seen commercials for meal plans like Nutrisystem that provides all of your meals which are portioned out. I haven't tried it, but something like that may also work for you.
