  • feeling fuller on fiber - a myth?

Did you know that filling up on foods rich in fiber might not actually make you feel fuller for longer? Apparently British scientists have discovered that while some foods do help to fill us up they don't actually stop us from eating more. The study apparently debunked the myth that food can control appetite and how many calories we ingest which may help us with weight loss. So, yes, apparently you can fill up on fiber, but doing this isn't going to necessarily help you lose weight.

I found this study both disheartening (cause I always thought that eating more fiber was the key to weight loss) but also interesting. If you want to read more about it, here's the link Why food that keeps you full for longer doesn?t actually help with weight loss - National | Globalnews.ca

Wow really? That's depressing news! I always thought that fiber was the answer to feeling less hungry :( Does nothing work?

I guess I don't find that too surprising. I feel like if that actually worked, people wouldn't have such a hard time losing weight or maintaining weight loss.

I heard this too. However, I think that filling up on fiber is better than filling up on carbs.

To be honest, I think that too bruceH. I know you should believe studies, but I always find I"m fuller on fiber, too.
