  • Kids how are obese are at a great risk of developing depression and anxiety

I recently came across a study that found that there is an increased risk of anxiety and depression in obese children. You can read about it here if you're interested: https://www.sciencedaily.com/release...0427201941.htm I just thought I'd share this in case anyone has kids. There seems to be so many factors these days that can contribute to anxiety and depression and kids so in case this is something you're worried about with your own kids or children you care about, this is another factor to keep in mind.

That doesn't surprise me. I imagine children who are obese have a very low self-esteem and they are likely bullied for how they look or fear that they will be, especially in a superficial society that is all about looks and trying to be as skinny as you can...

That's really sad. I find obesity in children is really sad anyway. I know we all have genetic issues and some of us simply aren't slimmer than others, but being obese isn't the same as being overweight. Most children who are obese are learning bad habits from their parents and that's really really sad.

This makes sense and it is very sad. I feel bad for kids who are obese. I really hope that becoming less of a problem in the future :(
