  • Success story in the news

I was just enjoying my Sunday morning coffee and news reading and I came across an article that I thought I should share here.

It's about weight loss success that a regular person like the rest of us had that ended up winning him an award from Weight Watchers. The man sounds like he could be any one of us.

THIS is the type of success story that I love. It's nice to see all the "these results are not typical" people on the commercials, but it's stories like this that make me feel that I will actually reach my goal if I just stick to it, because normal people can do it even without weird restrictive eating, personal chefs, and personal trainers.

I hope you're all inspired by this, too!

aww that's great! Thanks for sharing this. I wish I could get a prize for the weight that I'm losing haha. It'd be way more motivational than just being proud of myself

I don't actually understand why diet programs show people whose results are not typical in their commercials. They are setting people up for disapointment so that they will either not stay on with their program throughout the entire length, or they will give bad word of mouth marketing - or both. If you have people frustrated right off the bat then they will leave bad reviews online and tell all their friends why the program isn't very good. It's better to show people what they can actually expect.

This was a great story, though. Thanks for sharing :)

I can't imagine what it would feel like to lose 150 pounds. My girlfriend weighs less than that. It's like losing an entire healthy adult in extra fat!

That's actually a really good way to put things in perspective, Bruce H. It made me think about how much weight that I have to lose and when I actually equate that amount into something with the equivalent weight, it makes me want to lose weight even more.
