  • Could white fat become brown fat?

Apparently there?s been a study that says scientists are looking for a way to turn bad ?white fat? into good ?brown fat?. Apparently white fat is what causes weight gain and that brown fat is used for energy. This seems interesting, but still a little out there to me. What do you guys think about these findings?

I have to say that is interesting and at the same time sounds totally vile! It's great that science is making some serious headway in helping with weight loss, but ultimately isn't this still just encouraging the same problem?? If people want to lose weight they really have to cut the crap out of their diet. I feel like any time I read about these procedures it's like people take it as it's a pass for them to eat whatever they want because they just have to take this pill, get this surgery or that injection to control their weight...

I know what you mean, but at the same time I think it's important that new advancements are made. Like it or not, obesity is really becoming a serious epidemic in America and people have a seriously hard time controlling themselves when it comes to their diets. While I do know that ultimately the only real way to lose weight and keep it off is to change you diet and include more exercise in your life, at the same time, sometimes people need something to help get them started and maybe this could be it for some people, you know?

this is weird. I really don't know what to think about this either. Part of me thinks that it's cool and another part of me really wonders if governments should be stepping in to start passing more tax laws and/or incentives that encourage people to eat better. It really does seem like so many of the "fixes" for weight loss are just allowing people to feel they can lose weight easily without having to make change to their lifestyle.
