I just saw a study that showed that rapidly losing weight can be very beneficial to overweight or obese peopel who have diabetes because it can make a huge difference in managing the condition, so that they can get their blood sugar back where it should be WAY easier.
Maybe that's the one.

Sorry for being unclear. The study that I saw was about how people who had pre-diabetes dramatically lowered their risk of ending up with full blown type 2 diabetes if they managed to reduce their weight very quickly to a healthy level within a period of 6 months from the diagnosis.
Shows that if you get your weight under control it makes a huge difference to the type of risk that you have of major conditions.

This is actually very interesting! Thank you for sharing it. You don't often see a health study that says that you have to lose weight super fast. Normally they recommend very gradual weight loss over time so it doesn't hurt your internal organs and cause the weight to come back later. I guess in this one circumstance it's different, though. If you have pre-diabetes, get ready for an intense six months that could save you from a lifetime of grief!

It's really good news that losing weight quickly can reduce the odds that a prediabetic will get it, but it's still good to diet properly - especially for someone at risk of diabetes.
Someone with diabetes or who is close to having it could run the risk of a lot of problems by not eating properly. Don't just start starving yoruself to try to lose weight really fast.
It should be a doctor guided weight loss if you're trying something like this.
