  • Matthew McConaughey's weight loss

Did anyone else see this? Matthew McConaughey opens up about weight loss - Winnipeg Free Press

I found it really interesting. It's not necessarily because of who it is but because he talked so frankly about what he went through. He has way less energy than he did before he started losing all the weight, and he faced a lot of plateaus.

The lesson he has to teach: Just keep going. When you keep it up, you get past the plateaus, you fight past the fatigue, and then you reach your goals and you feel great. He also pointed out that what you eat is about 90 percent of your effort. So pay close attention to what and how much you're eating, but still don't forget to exercise, and you can drop a huge amount of weight.

That is inspiring to me. I can't tell you how many plateaus I've hit. I've lost nearly 25 pounds now, and it feels great, but I EARNED each lost pound!

That's really interesting. Thanks for sharing this.

To be honest, I'm also quite surprised at this not only because it's pretty interesting and informational, but I never even realized that Matthew Mcconahey was heavy. Did he actually put on a lot of weight at some point? I didn't hear about it. I always thought of him as fit.

The article you linked says he's down to 140-something. Isn't that a little slim for him? Is he doing this for his health, his looks, or for a movie? that might explain some things.

I agree with what he said that "what you eat is about 90 percent of your effort."

If you eat without knowing the content of the food you are eating, without control and thinking about its content because you're just hungry, you'll definitely won't see any difference in your body, EVEN if you exercise a lot.

That's really true. It goes for all of the ingredients, not just the ones that should be weight loss friendly. If you want to be healthy, you need to make sure that you have a good nutrient density to your foods. But nutrient dense foods are also great for weight loss, because you get all of the vitamins, minerals, etc you need, but in fewer calories.
