  • Really slipped up my diet on the weekend...

So after about a month of eating well and exercising, I had my breaking point on the weekend and I slipped up. I slipped up bad. On Saturday for lunch I ate Mcdonalds, I had a quarter pounder MEAL with diet coke. (ohh mama). Then we went out for dinner. I did order a seafood salad but I still gobbled the bread (with butter), and drank 1/2 a bottle of wine with it. On Sunday I had Mcdonalds again- a chicken snack wrap this time with a small fries (ooh mama) but then at least I worked out for 45 minutes then went for a 20 minute walk. Sunday night I didn't do too badly, chicken breast with a salad, and then yesterday I ate subway for breakfast/lunch, snacked on some veggies and fruit and then brace yourselves.... several handfuls of CHEETOS. Oh how I love thee cheeto. Then for dinner I had chicken breast again and I made McCain super FRIES in my oven. I feel like a huge failure right now, I don't want to go near the scale. I probably just ruined several weeks of hard work. What do you do to get back on track after a slip up?

Oh I so know what you mean. Don't worry though, everyone has slip ups, you just have to get back on track this week. Put it behind you, it's over, it's done with, move on :). Focus on the coming week and how healthy you are going to be. Don't dwell on the past or you will think, well "i screwed up so it's all in the toilet now." Also drink a lot of water on the days you slip up.

Don't beat yourself up about it. When you do blow it... it's better if it's just one day. You can't do much damage in only one day. It takes about 3500 surplus calories to make a pound? Just get it together and get right back on the horse right afterwards!

        Thanks to both of you.

It sounds like so much when you put it that way but unfortunately I seem to be able to make 3500 calories add up a little too easily sometimes Thanks for the encouragment I appreciate it. I did a little better this weekend- no major slip ups.

          Hello,

As you mentioned your last week eating habit, you will have to change it and have to take a pledge that you will never repeat it again..

Have a strong determination and work harder. Its never too late. You just have to burn more calorie that you have taken in whole day. Then slowly slowly you will loose your whole extra weight...

I agree with putting it behind you, but you need to remember how guilty you felt afterward, to help prevent yourself from doing it again.

One more thing to think about... if (when) it happens again, do everything in your power to make it last only one day. You really can't do much damage in only 1 day. You will slow down any weight loss for about a week but you probably won't see any weight GAIN.

Thanks everyone I have been super good lately, I am down another 7 pounds so I am pretty happy. I am going to try to keep any future slip ups to just the one day not the entire weekend + a day lol Kstraka I love your avatar!!
