I am so great at sticking to my health strategy and weight loss steps all day long except mid afternoon. It's like nothing is good enough to convince me not to snack. I don't want something healthy, either. I want chips or something sweet. What is it about that time of day that is different from all other times?

Why does my willpower drop mid-afternoon?

If you're anything like me, you get drooping energy mid-afternoon. It could be that as your energy falls, so does your motivation to stick to your promises to yourself. Have a coffee or energizing supplement before you start to droop. Maybe that will do it?

I've got to agree. It's the mid-afternoon energy dip. Either charge up with something or have a nap. That will probably help a lot. You can always have a preemptive strike too. Like eat an apple before you get hungry. It's high in fiber, filling enough, but not extreme in calories. That could help you from getting too hungry and could help to control cravings based on an energy slump.
