    I’ve been reading in a lot of places that lemon water is a great secret to weight loss, but recently I also saw that it doesn’t actually directly lead to weight loss. It just has a bunch of things that encourage you to lose weight more effectively. So Iv’e been chugging down lemon water thinking that I am doing something great to lose weight when actually I’m just hydrating myself as I would if I had plain water. I’m stunned that the main benefit is hydrating and providing a choice that isn’t soda or juice.

    Is there actually any way that lemon water does make you lose weight?

    I don’t think that lemons have any properties in them that will actually make you lose weight. It’s not like drinking a diet pill or anything.

    I think that the main benefit is that it makes you feel full, it hydrates you, and it gives you something to drink that has essentially no calories in it. Those things make it easier for you to lose weight, if that’s your goal. But drinking it all on its own isn’t going to make a difference in the sense of pounds directly coming off.

        That’s got to be it. There is no single thing that is going to miraculously make you lose weight faster than you naturally would, but you should consider lemon water to simply be an intelligent choice. It’s something that you can select for yourself to know that you’re not going for an alternative that would only be contrary to what your’e trying to do.

          I personally really like lemon water. I like that it is easier to drink than regular water and it is easier to be able to keep up with hydrating myself. I also found that I like it when it is warm and I think that it absorbs better into the body when it’s warm so that is another benefit to it.

            Lemon water just makes it easier to stay hydrated. It makes you feel like you're drinkign something other than "plain" water. Hydration is very importnat to weight loss.
