  • I can't begin to lose weight

Hello. My name is Irina. I am 30 years old and I'm fat. I am very tired of it. But I can't begin to lose weight. Every time I get stuck. I have children and a husband, all the time I have for them to cook. And I can't find the motivation.
    Heip me!!!
P.S.English for me is not native, so sorry for mistakes.

I completely understand what you are going through, Irina. It’s one thing when you are just taking care of yourself, but it’s something else when you are trying to lose weight but you still have to cook for a family. I think the key to motivation and to actually being able to achieve your goals is to get the family involved instead of trying to work around them.

Let your kids pick the veggies that they want. When you do that, they will want to eat a lot more of them. In fact, let them help out with preparing them, if they are old enough. After all, even little ones can do things like snapping the ends off of green beans. No knives needed, so it’s kid safe.

Think of the effort as one to make the whole family healthier, instead of just making you lose weight. That way, you’ll all motivate each other, you’ll feel great, and you’ll make sure that your kids don’t have weight problems when they get older. They’ll have learned the right thing to do, right from the start.

Hi Irina. I’m very sorry to hear that you’re struggling so much. It’s so hard when you need to try to create meals that everyone will like. I have a picky eater to cook for and so it’s not easy to try to please everyone.

You need to do this for yourself. Let your motivation be that you want to be the beautiful person you know you are and that you want to be healthy so that you will always be there for your kids and your husband. That’s how I tell myself that I need to get out for my walks every day (fifteen minutes in the morning and fifteen minutes at night. ..every little bit counts!).

I eat the same as the rest of my family because I can’t make separate meals for myself, but I just eat less of it. It’s working for me. Believe in yourself!

Try making changes a little bit at a time. That way, it isn't hard on anyone and things will always be getting better. You can do it!
