  • is it exercise if you're on your feet all day?

I just went to a big event yesterday and I didn’t get to do my regular workout, but I was on my feet for about 4 straight hours. I wasn’t standing, but I wasn’t walking fast, either. I was doing a slow sort of walk that probably had me going 1-2 miles per hour. Today, my muscles are really sore in my legs.

Does it count as a workout because I did it for so long, even though I wasn’t going fast? Could I consider it strength training if it isn’t actually cardio?

I honestly don't think that counts as exercise. I wish it did. But you're not really using your muscles and you're not getting your heart pumping. So it's likely slightly better for your circulation than sitting, but not by much. I'd still recommend that you get out and move around for a half hour minimum every day

I agree with Bigbobby. If you want to make your exercises count you need to get your heart rate up. I'm sure it's not nothing to be standing all day, but it's not really something that you could count toward a workout, either.

Nope. but exercise will make you feel better after standing around all day.
