What are some ways that I can use chia seeds for health and weight loss? Are they high in fiber? Can they substitute other higher fatty foods. I was just given a large bag of them and I want to make good use of them!

Chia seeds are a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants fiber, iron, and calcium. They can be added to smoothies, cereals and lots of meals. That said, they usually taste better when they've been left in liquid a bit so they become more jelly like than hard like a seed.

Bleh, chia seeds LOL. They are good for you but I find their texture just awful. That said, if you do want to make them apart of your diet, I think most people add them to smoothies and to vegetarian bowls, so like a bowl that contains almond milk, chia seeds, fresh and dried fruits, tree nuts, etc.

They are high in fiber and they are great in smoothies! Mix them up with some fruits and vegetables and that's one fantastic boost of fiber and a great way to get a lot of nutrients :) Let them soak first for a bit though so they aren't seedy!

Honestly, some of the best ways to use chia seeds is to add them to juice or water. You can also add them to stir fries and in spite of what others have said here, they are actually really good as a raw topping. You don't need to soak them before eating them if you don't want. You can always grind them and sprinkle them on top of the food you eat.

Personally I love adding them to oatmeal. I like how they swell up a bit but that they also have a bit of a crunch. :)

I like them this way, too. I also like to grind them and add them to salad for a little extra kick. I like how versatile they are and I love that they're good for you, too. :)
