  • Decaf green verses regular green

Is decaffeinated green tea as healthy for you as regular green tea? I don't just mean for weight loss I mean like for overall health, can I still expect to get the same goodness and benefits from the tea that has gone through the decaffeinate process?

Yes it's just as good for you. I think there are lower levels of antioxidants, but not by much, which is caused by the decaffination process. However, on the whole, whether your drink caffenated or decaffenated, you're getting some health benefits. :) Just remember that if you do drink the decaffenated one though that you won't get the boost of energy or mental focus that you would from the caffeine.

You can expect nearly the same health benefits. As Christysmiles already pointed out, only a small portion of the antioxidant content is reduced from the decaffeinating process. That being said, do keep in mind that to really get all the benefit from green tea, you would be required to drink copious amounts. Therefore, it doesn't really matter if you are't getting benefits from the tea in its decaffeinated form, because you're likely not drinking enough to make much of a difference anyway. It's why drinking it normally tends to be more beneficial, because at least you're getting a bit of caffeine from it.

Okay so essentially what you're saying is that it's still good for you, it's just lower in the antioxidant department than regular green tea. I can live with that. :)

Also, does anyone know which of the green teas is supposed to be the healthiest and is there a decaf version of it?

Um I think Matcha is supposed to be the best one but I have no idea if that is available in green tea versions or not

No there isn't a decaf Matcha. It would be silly if there were. The reason is that Matcha is known for having a higher caffeine content. It's why some people actually prefer it to other forms of green tea. If you want something decaf you'll want another kinda of green tea.

Oh really? I didn't realized that matcha was bout delivering more caffeine. I thought it was actually supposed to be more healthy for you because it's higher in nutrients, antioxidants and all that stuff.
