If you are looking for some motivation to lose weight, consider adopting a greener lifestyle. By concentrating on helping the planet and making changes to do so, you will naturally work toward living a minimalistic lifestyle. You'll waste less, be more conscious about the foods you are putting in your body and from where they are sourced, you'll probably walk or bike more, etc.

You have a point. I mean, if you want to play your part in reducing carbon emissions you should throw out less so your not contributing to the landfill. You should walk or bike more so you aren't using your car to put carbon emissions in the air and you should also stop eating a lot of beef...as the beef industry is the worst in terms of greenhouse gas emissions...all these things can actually help with weight loss.

Yeah, I guess it does make sense. Help the planet and you help yourself. I've never thought about it that way before either, but it definitely does make sense :) I've actually been giving some serious thought to reducing the amount of meat I eat too, because I've also heard that it's brutal for the environment. Out of curiosity does anyone know if eating fish is an environmental problem, too?

I fully agree with what you're saying @freedyboy. To be environmentally friendly you need to lower your own personal carbon footprint and many of the things to make this happen could actually benefit weight loss, such as walking or biking instead of taking a car, reducing your waste - both food and material - sending less to the landfill and living a more minimalist lifestyle on the whole.

We really should be more eco-friendly for our diets, health and the sake of the world. All you hear about more and more now are species facing extinction and all the bad things we're doing to the world through out consumption, pollution and the way we live. I think someone needs to invent the environmental diet.
