Low sex drive
Well if you are on a diet you are naturally going to have less energy and therefore have less energy for your sex drive. However, this effect is most common with low protein diets rather than low carb.
But if you really find it a problem, for the love of God eat something!

yes, it makes sense now that i think about it. my diet has been lower than usual in the amount of protein. i'll add more protein to my diet and hopefully feel better soon.
do you have any suggestions of high protein foods that are low in fat and cals?Guinea Piggy is one of Weight Loss Center's esteemed Weight Loss Blog Authors.

You know what's funny, I have the same problem when I'm dieting and what not. I think it's the new diet patterns ruining my sex drive. I just started too and was looking for information on dieting and the female sex drive...
Glad I'm not the only one.
How did you rejuvenate it?Last edited by honest; 06-12-09, 09:25 PM.

honest, you certainly aren't the only one. once i started eating more protein (and fats) my sex drive got a lot better again. i also started savoring a small piece of dark chocolate every day as a treat. i love chocolate and it really lifts my spirit and puts me in a better mood.
so, to answer your question, yes eating more foods high in protein helped. i try to eat lean proteins when i can, like fish and lean meats. i also make protein shakes with chocolate soy powder and skim milk. i can't really say if it's the fats or the protein that has made the difference, but either way it seems to work.
i hope it turns around for you soon. darn dieting, if it's not one thing it's another .Guinea Piggy is one of Weight Loss Center's esteemed Weight Loss Blog Authors.

You probably need to go in for a general chem blood test. My guess is that if this happened with "eatting right" that you're probably deficient in something. Are you still having your period? You also might try eatting a steak or something, because anemia can cause low libido as well as B vit deficiencies and most of the time, when women are eatting well and menstrating, they cut red meat.Another thing I'll bring up is that it may be mental. You might just be THINKING about working out and food all day and you don't have time to think about sex like you used to. . .It might just be that you've got other stuff on your mind. Stress (like from adding to your schedule) can have that effect.

There are some consequences in dieting like lack of energy and drive but if you think about it, you only need to balance your meal so that you will have the energy that you need to get by for a day. If you are having difficulty with your sex life then, I suggest that you try to munch on energy bars and drinks when necessary especially during times when you need some extra extra energy, you know what i mean. lmao.
Goodluck and I do hope that your dieting will not disrupt your sex life.
