  • Eco friendly is weight friendly

I was thinking about Earth day and some of the things that I can do to have a better and more environmentally friendly lifestyle and it struck me that everything I was considering was actually something that was better for weight loss (or maintenance), too!

I thought I'd keep the TV turned off and clean the house (using eco-friendly products like vinegar and baking soda). I also need to grocery shop. Though I normally take the car, I'll be taking my bundle buggy and walking over. It's just down the street anyway. Also, I only live on the second floor of my building so I'll be taking the stairs instead of using the elevator.

I'll also be going vegetarian this weekend, which is also calorie/earth friendly.

If you choose to be friendly to the environment, you'll naturally lose weight!

This is a great revelation! Don't forget to keep it up, not just on Earth Day.

I never really thought of it that way but that's a good idea. I suppose that just shows us that as much as we may think that we're somehow "above" nature, we're still natural creatures that follow the same rules as the rest of the planet if we want to be healthy.

Does anyone know if organic food is any better for weight loss than things that are grown in the normal way? Are there any studies or anything that say that the extra pesticides and herbicides and fertilizers do any kind of harm to the way that the body functions so that it's not as prone to lose weight? I'd really be curious to know but I haven't found anything with my own googling.

Exactly! Why use an electricity guzzling treadmill when you can just go outside and get great exercise and fresh air? If you want to make it more challenging, go for a hike in nature or walk on sand at the beach. You don't need equipment or highly specialized gear for that!
