  • What's Piloga

I know that Piloga is Pilates and Yoga combined, but what exactly is it? Has anyone ever tried it? Is it better than doing one over the other? Should I expect the best of both worlds LOL

It's a form of fusion fitness training. It's supposed to combine the best of pilates and yoga in one workout session. I've personally never tired it, but I have a few friends who have and they've said that it's actually quite demanding on the body, which may make it too intense for some people. It combines the strength and toning aspects of pilates with the focus and calmness of yoga. In other words, if you've ever tried pilates and found it too hard, I doubt you'll have much luck with piloga.

That sounds intense. I've always found Yoga challenging enough. Isn't pilates all about strength training?

Ya, I think pilates primarily focuses on resistance training and strength training exercises that use your body as the resistance. I've done a few pilates and yoga beginner classes and liked both, but I found them to be quite challenging as they workouts advanced...honestly, I can imagine combining the two without my abs hurting!

Piloga is awesome. If you can find a class near you I recommend trying it. I wouldn't risk doing it on your own though. You really should have a professional guiding you at first if you're a newbie.

Thanks for all of your response. Based on what you guys said I did a little bit more investigating and found a gym that offers piloga classes. I think I'm going to give it a try to see if I like it. Wish me luck!
