I stopped doing yoga about a month ago for no other reason than it kinda grew complicated with my lifestyle then. Now, things have evened out in my life and I want to do it again. Do you think I'll need to start at beginner again or do you think my body is still primed for Yoga? I really don't want to start at beginner because I'm afraid I'll find it to repetitive and boring and not want to do it anymore. Suggestions?

Probably a few weeks...after a month of not doing it at all, I'd be careful just jumping back into it, especially if you think you can handle something more than beginner. I would suggesting easing yourself back in and seeing how your body feels while doing the exercises, after you do them and the next day. This will give you an idea of what your body can handle.

I guess that's good advice. I suppose a month is too long to assume that my body will get back into the swing of things right away. *sigh* I'll take it slow and hope for the best...I just hate when you've made advancements and then you quit and then you have to start at the beginning again! It's so frustrating when you lose progress and you've got no one to blame for it but yourself!

It is frustrating! For me, I find if I've gone without doing something for a month, I do need to ease myself back into it. However, I also find that it doesn't take me as long to get back into the swing of things as it would if I was trying something new for the very first time or I went a super-long time without doing it, like six months or something. Hopefully this will be the case for you, too! Good luck!

For me it takes like 3 weeks before I find I'm not in shape anymore. I would highly recommend that if you've let yourself go for a month, to listen to what everyone else is saying and start slow. It's just not worth it to set yourself back even further from injury because you pushed yourself too hard.
