  • Walking off the weight

Walking for me is absolutely the easiest form of exercise. AND it's free lol, no gym fees and no fancy equipment required. Sooo, I am going to start walking regularly to help get some weight off. I read that walking at a moderate pace for 30-60 minutes will burn stored fat and can build muscle which helps speed up metabolism. So in the beginning I will aim for 30 minutes per day and slowly get it up to 45 minutes per day. Does anyone have a dog they want walked? lol j/k.

I start and end every day with a walk. I get up at 6:30am and do a half hr walk before breakfast, then in the evening I do a half hr after dinner. It really helps me feel good and energized to start my day, then it helps me unwind to end my day. In addition to helping you lose weight, walking an hour a day is also associated with cutting your risk of heart disease, breast cancer, colon cancer, diabetes and stroke. That's worth the walk isn't it?

Now that it's starting to get dark earlier, I'm walking during my lunch hour. I'm very energized for the second half of the day!

Me and my labrador retriever always go for a walk in the morning. He really loves to join me with my cardio routine.

Walking is a form of cardio and dogs like us also needs that for them to increase their resistance to infections and have stronger immunity, and also to burn off calories too! :)

Dogs really are a great exercise program. If you don't feel guilty enough for failing yourself, they lay it on thick enough that you don't have the choice but to get out for the walk

Walking is a great way to increase fitness and improve your general health. It is safe, low impact and can be enjoyed by almost anyone, yet brings similar benefits to many more strenuous activities. It is also easy to incorporate into your everyday routine.

Walking makes you feel great, too. You can battle depression, stress, and fat all at the same time.

At this time of year it can help you to keep seasonal affective disorder under control, as well, since there's not as much daylight.
