If you grew up with Pokemon like I did, you no doubt already own this game and love it! Even if you haven't though, you might still want to get it cause you might find it to be fun. Better still it's not only fun but it actually really helps me to get out and walk around. I wouldn't say that it's the only form of exercise that you should do by a long shot, but on days where you just can't fin the drive to go out for a walk, this may actually give you a bit of fun motivation...

That said...I can't stress enough that you need to PAY ATTENTION to your environment. The game is a lot of fun and all, but some people are really dumb when they play it. Be smart.

Personally, I'll be happy when this game is no longer a fad. Yes, it gets people outside but they're not exactly moving fast and most of them have their heads in their phones. I've seen people walk into other people, things and saw one kid almost walk out into traffic...all to catch a digital creature on their phone! Sure, the game might be fun but I would never classify it as a great way to exercise.

OMG I love this game and I’ve got to say since I started playing it I am outside a lot more! I kinda disagree with you Treehuggertodd. I think this game gives me great exercise. You probably haven’t played it very much or maybe not at all. I’m only saying that because it’s not like you just wander around and find Pokemon absolutely everywhere (mind you it depends on where you live). If you want to go to one of the gyms or stores you got to walk to get there. Plus you have to walk a certain number of KM to hatch eggs. Plus the more you walk the more Pokemon you find. I feel like you pay for pokemon with your calories LOL.

I think Pokemon Go is a good social activity that encourages you to get outdoors and get some fresh air, but I agree with treehuggertodd that it's not an ideal form of exercise. Yes you'll burn a few calories, but to really feel the burn and for it to matter to weight loss and health at all, you need to get your heart rate up. You're not going to do that by strolling and pausing every few minutes to capture pokemon. Plus, let's face it, this game is a fad and will eventually lose its appeal and people will go back to other games they like or try something new. It's not an ideal form of exercise.

I love playing this game! I don't think it's the best exercise either but, hey, every calorie burned counts, right???

That's exactly it Kyra. Sometimes it's not just about getting out and getting cardio but just burning some calories doing what you like doing!
