  • how do you choose a workout class?

I would really love to go to my local gym or community center that offers workout classes and fitness classes but all of the ones that I see in the marketing pamphlets all look like they are so intense. They are all very excited descriptions but it makes me feel like it’s too much and I won’t be able to do it. I don’t want to embarrass myself. How do I know if a class will be good for me without having to sign up and end up wasting a lot of money because I don’t end up going? Can anyone help me out with this?

I think that the best way is to just ask if you can sit in or watch for just a little bit to get a feel for what it’s about and see if it’s right for you. Maybe they’ll let you pay for one class as a trial, instead of signing up for the whole thing.

If you really have no idea what you're doing then speaking with a professional is your best bet. Otherwise you could end up pouring money into something that is wrong for you or you could hurt yourself.

I agree with KellyKatt. Asking if you can sit in on one of the classes is a good idea. You may also want to talk with instructors or other people who attend the gym to find out what they think. There is likely more than one way you can find out if the gym is good for you without having to spend any money, or by paying a much smaller fee. Ask and you'll find out :)
