I’ve been trying to find the right footwear to keep up my walking in the winter. Are the hiking boot style of winter boots good for this?

Deciding whether or not these are the shoes you want for winter is based on a couple of important questions. The first is the amount of walking that you are going to be doing. If you aren't going to be going very far, then these probably aren't right for you. This is because they are meant for you if you actually intend to be active. If you're going to walk two blocks and then wait at a bus stop, then you are going to want boots that are different and that are a lot warmer because you'll be stnading still most of that time and your feet will get very very cold.
The second question is how deep will the snow be that you'll be walking in? If it's up to your lower ankle level, you'll be fine. If you're headed through places that aren't shoveled, youll hate being knee-deep in short boots!
