Yoga is very effective. It's good for flexibility, circulation, and mental health too. It shouldn't be your only exercise, though because it doesn't have cardio or strength training in it.

Yep, yoga is can be easily done at home. Yoga improves flexibility, aids posture, increases range of motion, improves bone density and adds muscle tone particularly the core stabilizing muscles (those are your abs and back muscles).

It's true that yoga is great for health. Pilates is a good variation of that, too. Just make sure that no matter which one you choose, you're doing the moves properly so you don't end up hurting yourself. You might find that it's a good idea to take a couple of classes before you start doing them at home.

If you get a very good video for beginners, you can get instructions for each of the poses as an additional option in some of them. Between those instructions and a mirror, I didn't need to pay for the classes.

You're right about the mirror. That makes all the difference. It doesn't even have to be all that big, as long as you can fully see yourself in any of the given positions that are required in the video you're using.

You need to be able to see what you're doing because just because something feels right, it doesn't mean that you're actually making the right moves or angles.

I love yoga. I have scoliosis and my doctor recommended it as an overall health exercise. The most important part of yoga is how you feel and you'll notice less pains if you sit at an office chair a lot.
