  • Best Exercise for Weight Loss

    They say that running is one of the best exercises to lose weight. I know I always get a great workout when I jog or play sports. The only thing is I find that it is really hard on my joints. When I was younger it was no big deal, but as I get older I am finding that my knees and ankles can't take the impact from running like they used to. I feel pain in these regions after I participate in sports and jogging.
    Because of this I have switched from jogging to swimming and elliptic training. Both of these exercises are easy on my joints and they both give me a great workout. I read recently that swimming is actually a better cardio workout the jogging.

    I know that not everyone can get to a pool, but elliptical training works great too.

      A stationary bike is also easier on the joints than jogging.

        god, working out on an elliptical or stationary bike is soooo boring, even if there is tv to watch. i don't know how you do it. good for you though.

          Mcbean is funny, I know how it feels like jogging on an elliptical and I can't stand even for just an hour. Sure I sweat but its different than doing it outside.

          Jogging is a good exercise to lose weight , but it especially improves our cardiovascular fitness. Although it is good to jog even while inside the comforts of your own home since it still strengthens your knees, ankles and hips; doing it in a park or any other recreational environment is better because it can further enhance the mental benefits it gives to you. It can help you relax and reduce anxiety and stress.

          I personally recommend that you run/jog in a park where you get to enjoy the scenery and the wonderful air. You will mostly do it habitually if you enjoy what you are doing right? try to bring your dog or anyone in the household. or if you prefer, you can do it alone. The most important thing is you do not bore from the routine otherwise, you might be sitting in the sofa the next day enjoying television instead. furthermore, I recommend doing this exercise routine in the morning, it can help you work better throughout the day and you will surely feel a lot better after work.

            Swimming & Bicycling is good exercise

            HI,

            Yes you are correct swimming is best for Cardio workout. bicycling is also good for toning your thighs. you can get slimmer body for solving your problem.

                I have to agree, running is indeed the best exercise for everyone especially for beginners. It is also the simplest because you can do it virtually anywhere, i must say it is also a very cheap form of exercise because you don not need to buy expensive tools to do running, all you need is a good and durable pair of shoes to run to.

                running can improve endurance and strength but before you run, make sure that you are fit for the exercise because running is not for everybody. Ask your doctor first before you do this a regular habit. the best of luck to us all.

                  Steady state running is good for building endurance but not the most idea for fat loss or burning calories. You should try HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) or doing compound exercises such as burpees, squats and mountain climbers in quick bursts with little rest in between sets for a more effective fat burning workout.

                    Well,thanks for sharing useful tips....According to my opinion,running and swimming are the best weight loss exercises....Its really important for your health...!

                              Instead of running you can do walking. Go for brisk walk. It does not cause any cramp.
