  • Fat Binder Vs. Fat Blocker

Is a fat binder and fat blocker the same thing? I was thinking about taking Proactol XS and it says it's a fat binder. Does this mean I can expect the same blocking action as a product labeled as a fat blocker? Is their a difference between these two types of products or is the name interchangeable? I'm so confused

I believe that a fat binder is a type of fat blocker. It binds to fat and essentially blocks your body from being able to absorb it (fat blocker) and the fat is eliminated from your body as waste. So essentially all fat binders are fat blockers but not all fat blockers are fat binders. I hope that makes sense lol.

Interesting. I didn't know that. So if a fat binder is a type of fat blocker, what other kinds of fat blockers are there aside from binders?

I don't know if there are other fat blockers other than fat binders but there are carb blockers, which sort of do the same thing except that they block your body from absorbing startches...so it's still a reduction in calories which can help with weight loss.

That's interesting Nelly. I never knew that. I suppose that does make a lot of sense but now I'm wondering the same thing as Mike. There must be other types of fat blockers if a fat binder is a type of fat blocker. Otherwise the names would be interchangeable right?

There are different fat blockers and fat binders. The difference is that a fat binder binds to fat as a way of blocking it but other fat blockers may block the absorption of fat without binding and just flush it through your body. In the end, the result is the same in terms of fat elimination.
