  • What happened to Ionamin

Wasn't their a diet drug called Ionamin? It was like a yellow capsule I think. Does it still exist?

Hmmm, haven't heard that name in a while. I think it's not sold in the US but may be available in other markets, if what you're referring to is that slow release phentermine pill thing.

Ionamin was a phentermine resin complex. The brand name Ionamin doesn't exist anymore. There may still be generic versions of it, but typically it's not prescribed in the US anymore.

I didn't even know there were other types of brand name phentermine beyond Adipex-P LOL. What in the heck is a resin complex???

It's a type of phentmerine pill that functions in a sustained release form. So when you take it, it slowly releases the drug in your body instead of dissolving all at once like other forms of the drug.

A lot. But honestly, that doesn't matter. If you're in the US, the only ones that apply to you are phentermine (generic name drug) and Adipex-P (prescription brand name phentermine drug). There is also Qsymia which is made up of two drugs, one of them being phentermine and the other topiramate. Other than that, I don't think there are any other FDA approved drugs for weight loss that are either phentermine-based or that include this drug.
