If you are taking diabetes medications to help control insulin, etc. Can this medications also help with weight loss?

Um I don't think so. I mean, maybe this could be an indirect benefit...but I don't think that you will see weight loss taking these medications unless you are actively engaging in exercises and a calorie-reduced diet. They aren't prescribed to treat weight loss and controlling your sugar levels doesn't necessarily mean that you will lose weight.

I don't think they help either...like they aren't gong to provide you with more energy or with appetite control or anything. I'm sure helping with your insulin can be beneficial for weight loss, but not on its own. You still would need to eat a low-cal diet and exercise to lose weight.

No. Diabetes medication helps with diabetes. I know that you're probably asking this because sometimes they prescribe people drugs that were originally designed to treat one disease but because one of the side effects is appetite suppression they will use it for weight loss...but typically this isn't how medications work.

You're right, this was kinda why I was asking. I recently read that sometimes they prescribe people Desoxyn, which I don't think was initially designed for weight loss. Okay, well it's good to know that diabetes meds don't help.

Yeesh...isn't Desoxyn methamphetamine? I heard that that was used only in some cases to treat attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity disorder...man, it is scary what can be prescribed to treat certain conditions...
