  • Is Qsymia better than Phentermine alone?

I know that Qsymia combines both phentermine and some other drug. Does this make it more effective than just taking phentermine (adipex) alone? What does this additional drug do and how does it help with weight loss?

I don't think so. I think all these weight loss prescription meds have the same success rate (which isn't typically very good by the way considering the side effects they come with). I think it depends simply on how well you respond to the medication.

I don't think it is and since it contains two drugs, wouldn't this just mean double the risk of unwanted side effects? Also, I think the second drug that is used is one that's commonly used for people who have seizures or something like that. I believe it also works to help suppress your appetite.

I also don?t think that one pill works better than the other, I also believe that it?s a matter of which pill actually works best for you. In regard to Qsymia, though, the two drugs that are in this diet drug include Phentermine and Topiramate, which is an anticonvulsant drug that is used for treating seizures and disorders like epilepsy. It?s not actually known how Qsymia works but the belief is that is a powerful appetite suppressant that can also boost energy.

There's a drug in Qysmia that is meant to treat seizures?? How can this be good for a person who doesn't suffer from seizures? Also...I think your keyboard is a little strange antoniojones1968...either that or you really prefer question marks to apostrophes lol.

Because they'll use anything that they think will work as long as it's not too dangerous. My gosh, I mean in some cases they'll even prescribe Desoxyn. If you've never heard of that before, that's the trade name for Methamphetamine. Yup, the recreational drug. Believe it or not, but it is sometimes prescribed as a secondary treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity and even obesity. In the case of obesity, one of the side effects of Desoxyn is appetite suppression. That said, this drug is highly addictive and it's side effects are terrible...still, it can be used for obesity in some cases. My point being, prescription drugs can be quite dangerous and I really think that the industry needs to find a way to make them less so.

Are you kidding?? Methamphetamine is actually prescribed as a weight loss medication??? I'm assuming it's only prescribed in very specific situations like when a person needs to get their weight down stat to help prevent a dangerous health condition. Now I just feel scared of prescription drugs lol
