I’ve taken Adipex before and I had a lot of side effects that made me feel very uncomfortable. At the same time, though, I lost a lot of weight pretty easily while I was on it. I’ve been thinking about talking to my doctor about going on the same medication again, but at a different dose. Does anyone know if (generic) Phentermine 37.5 mg is the best dose because it’s the highest, or are the lower doses effective, too? Can I expect similar results from a weaker drug?

It's probably best to discuss this one with your doctor. When it comes to dosage, you'll likely be able to arrange this one best with your doc. You're probably right, though. If you had side effects with Phentermine 37.5 mg, then a lower dose will probably cut back on the ones that you experience. You might find that it doesn't suppress the appetite or give you as much energy at a lower dose. If that works for you, then it's probably healthier to go that route, anyway. You might also want to talk about some options that give similar benefits but that don't have the side effects, like phentramin-d, too. That's a very successful one and your doctor might recommend that you take that route because you've struggled with the prescription drugs. Good luck!

It's the strongest. If you can handle it, it'll help you lose weight fastest.

It's the strongest prescription in the actual tablet, but some doctors start you off on half a tablet per day to see if you can get results on a lower dose. You may want to go for the whole dose right from the start, but it's better to ease into it because you could be able to lose the weight for less money and with less side effects risk.
