Hi everyone. I've been taking Phentramin-d and I've been having a hard time sleeping. I don't take the pills too close to the evening, so that shouldn't be the problem. I'm thinking of halfing the dose and seeing if that helps. I was also thinking of taking a double dose in the morning and just avoid taking the pills in the afternoon at all. What do you think?

Definitiely don't take a double dose, but you might try halfing the dose. I would also suggest that if you eat or drink anything containing caffeine or other stimulants, you might want to stop ingesting these products. It could be that your diet combined with the Phentramin-d is what is causing you to have trouble sleeping.

I also think that if you're going to alter anything with your Phentramin-d dosage, it should only be to half your dose. Don't double it in one sitting. Also, what sort of routine do you do before you go to bed? If you're eating or drinking too close to bed time, this could be another reason why you are having problems sleeping. Also, if you are doing anything that stimulates your mind, this could also make falling asleep difficult.

In addition to all the suggestions so far (which I completely agree with) another way to help make sure you are getting good sleep is to make sure your temperature is good when you sleep. If you're too hot or too cold. getting to sleep and staying asleep can be a big challenge. Make sure your feet are cool. this will help to keep the rest of your body temperature down.

When I had problems sleeping, I found that listening to something calming, like nature sounds, rain, etc. in the dark helped. I also limited the amount of liquids I drank before I went to bed. In my experience I'm not worried so much about not getting to sleep, but staying asleep once I do. I find if I wake up in the middle of the night, my sleep is toast for the rest of the night.

Have you ever thought of maybe trying another weight loss pill? Like one that either contains a lower dose of stimulants or none at all? If you're worried that the pills are making it hard for you to sleep, I think the answer isn't to lower your dosage, but to quit these pills and try something else.

I've lowered my dosage to 1 pill per day (which I take in the morning) and I've also cut back my caffeine consumption and I have found that this works for me. I still feel like I'm getting the benefit of the pills, but I don't feel as jittery or wired and I'm sleeping better. Just thought I'd give everyone here and update as well as thank you all for your suggestions :)
