  • Does this pill contain a lot of stimulants?

I was wondering if Phentramin-d had lots of stimulants in it. I don't mind diet pills that contain caffeine, but I'm trying to pick one that is limited to one or two stimulants and not the several that many OTC alternatives to phentermine seem to have.

I know it contains caffeine anhydrous...but I don't know if it has other stimulants in it or not. That said, I'd recommend that if you want to keep the risks of caffeine-related side effects reduced, limit your caffeine consumption when you take these pills.

It has caffeine and synephrine, a stimulant that naturally occurs in Bitter Orange. The FDA has warned against he use of synephrine in supplements, especially when combined with caffeine, because combined these two stimulants increase a persons risk of jitters, heart palpitations, anxiety, and serious side effects like fainting, high blood pressure, stroke and heart attack. Take care if you're considering using this formula.

Phentramin-D does contain more than one stimulant. However, what it really contains the most of is caffeine anhydrous (1,3.7 trimethylxanthine). The amount of synephrine it contains is minimal. So while Lia is right that the FDA did warn against synephrine and combining it with caffeine (and that's a risk you should think about), it is equally important to point out that Phentramin-D doesn't contain a lot of synephrine to really do anything. In fact, the majority of its formula is primarily made up of its first to ingredients PEA and Caffeine. It's more of a caffeine pill than anything else.

I agree that it's essentially a caffeine pill. So if you have problems with caffeine, this isn't the pill for you. Even if you think it is the pill for you, it's still a good idea to talk to your doctor about it, follow the directions properly, and limit your intake of other stimulants while you are taking it.

If it's mostly a caffeine pill, how will it help you to lose weight? Wouldn't you just get the same benefit if you just drank caffeine instead of taking this pill?

I didn't realize it was mostly a caffeine pill. Thank you for all of your responses everyone!

Bonniekins, it's not the same. You'd have to drink an incredible amount of caffeine to get the same benefits (as far as I understand it). That said, you might try having your caffeinated beverage right before you work out as this may give you a bit more of an energy boost and help you to burn more calories :)
