  • Just try it or don't...

I know we pretty much don't have any idea of hoodia is effective or not for appetite suppression and the overall consensus seems to be that it does't do anything beneficial. However, if you are really interested in trying it out for yourself, find a good product from a good company, make sure it only contains Hoodia as the active ingredient, talk to your doctor and then maybe just give it a go. Otherwise, don't. There's no point in wondering if this ingredient is effective or not because the reality is that pretty much none of the ingredients in OTC weight loss pills have been proven effective for weight loss...Seriously, I'm not advocating hoodia here, personally, I'm not interested. I've just seen on this forum that there's a lot of confusion and questions about this ingredient and I really don't think it's that complicated of a decision.

You have a point. I just wish we didn't have to constantly be the guinea pigs for ingredients that have never been proven and are raved about. I wish stuff was studied and better regulated, especially with weight loss being so important to our society now.

I kinda disagree. I don't think we should be guinea pigs. I think that if they're going to sell something on the market and claim that it helps to do something, there should be solid proof that it does. Otherwise, they shouldn't sell it. It's not a matter of just trying something to see if it does or does not work for you. They just shouldn't be able to see it to someone, especially in such an open and easy way.

I get what you're saying and I do agree that there should be better regulations. That said, until there are, it's up to the person to decide if they should or should not take it. it's silly to ask other people if something works when no one knows if it does and you already know that. What I'm saying is if you're curious enough to give hoodia a try then take the risk. If you don't want to, that's fine, too, but being indecisive about it isn't helping anything nor is asking a bunch of questions that no one can answers. Personally, I think hoodia and all products containing it should be taken off the shelf.
