I get how Alli might be able to help you while you're on it, but once you're off it, aren't you just likely to go back to your bad habits? I mean, how long would you need to stay on this to get the most benefit out of it?

Nothing should happen. I mean, if it's worked for you, essentially, you should be keeping up with the diet and exercise routine you established while on it and this should help you maintain weight loss. If you get off Alli and all your weight comes back, this has to do with your choices an not Alli. Allli will only help you to make better choices for weight loss, it doesn't actually cause weight loss.

Hopefully once you've stopped it you'll have established a good weight loss strategy while you were on it and will stick to that. I would recommend that if you're going to take any pill, Alli included, your biggest priority is to create a diet that you can stick to and that works for weight loss while you're on it. The pill should help you get over the hump as jenny25 said. If you're doing that while you're on it...the pill really isn't going to help you. There's a difference between using something as an aid and using something as a permanent crutch.
