Simply because Alli can help you absorb less fat, this does not mean that you can eat whatever you want and no exercise and still lose weight. It is still important for you to exercise regularly and follow a calorie-conscious diet that is lower in fat. If you eat a lot of fat and take Alli, you're going to end up with some wicked unpleasant side effects. I'm only sharing this because a friend of mine took it all wrong and regretted it.

Isn't this a no-brainer? Do people really still think that a pill is going to magically lead to weight loss on its own? They're all designed to offer you support, even the prescription ones for obesity treatment. Nothing leads to weight loss on it's own. You HAVE to reduced your calories and exercise to really see progress...

It is kind of freaky how people really don't read instructions or still think that all you have to do is take a pill to lose weight. It's even more dangerous when they not only think it's a miracle pill but they actually don't take it as directed and cause some serious side effects. Honestly, if you take Alli wrong, you're not only unlikely to miss out on its potential weight loss support benefits, but you'll find yourself on the toilet all the time! Good on your for sharing your thoughts on this treehuggertodd!

Why oh why would someone ever think that taking a diet pill (prescription or not) or even getting weight loss surgery suddenly means that they don't have to watch what they eat and exercise? Watching what you eat and exercising is constant and never-ending if you want to lose and/or manage weight in a meaningful way. ALL plans require this. It's never a question of "Do I need to still diet and exercise" it's always "How do I best work my diet and exercise into this new plan or with this new product I"m taking," etc.

Also, I wanted to add that eating properly with Alli is more than just making sure you stick to your calorie limit, you also have to watch how much fat your ingest, too, because it can lead to some yucky side effects if you are not careful to follow the instructions. Aside from people wrongly expecting miracles from diet pills, the other major problem is that they don't read directions or follow them...there's a reason why instructions are provided....
