Is Tai Chi an Effective Workout for Men and Women?

There is no such thing as “the perfect workout,” although some methods claim to be the one. Still, there are effective workouts for men and women that you may not be considering. Tai Chi is a low-impact form of exercise that may actually help to prevent or cure certain age-related illnesses. On top of that, it is often referred to as “meditation in motion” because of its unique ability to reduce the stress levels of participants. All in all, it is a highly effective workout for both sexes regardless of age.


The Mind-Body Connection


There is mounting evidence to support the fact that the state of the mind is directly connected to the state of the body. Originally a martial art practiced in China and other parts of the Eastern world, Tai Chi can be practiced by nearly anyone despite their physical limitations. Although each movement is typically circular and never requires the connective tissue to be stretched beyond its limits, a person can still get the heart pumping to that vital level. Tai Chi can be a highly effective workout for both men and women who recently underwent some sort of surgery. Because it is easily adaptable, it is even possible for people who are confined to wheelchairs or otherwise cannot stand or walk without assistance. Those who are trying to heal after surgery will find slow-motion, low-impact activity to be highly effective in helping them regain their full range of motion.
